Grower’s Choice ROI-E900 Review

The  Grower's Choice ROI-E900 is a strong contender for larger indoor growing. It also boasts impressive PAR, aside from other commercial-grade LED grow lights standards, such as full spectrum coverage. But with many grow lights in the market today, does the ROI- E900 grow light stand out in its class, given its footprint coverage and power capacity? More importantly, should you consider the E900 LED grow light?

Grower's Choice ROI-E900 LED Commercial Lighting Fixture

The ROI-E900 can cover 4 x 5 feet grow spaces, with its signature PAR formula and 3K full phase spectrum for better canopy coverage. It uses an 8-bar design that delivers up to 1,000 watts of output. This grow light has a PPF of up to 2600 umol/s and an efficacy of 2.6 umol/J. The ROI-E900 distributes light at a 120-degree angle for better coverage.

Setting the brightness on the ROI-E900 lets you go from total blackout to a hundred percent lighting with step increments. But if you're looking for better precision, connect the ROI-E900 to the Master Lighting Controller by Growers Choice. This controller allows for deeper customization of your lighting recipes.

You can hang the ROI-E900 in tight grow tents, as it only needs a minimum mounting height of six inches above the canopy. Installation is also easy, as installing the ROI-E900 in your grow tent only takes minutes. This grow light uses passive cooling and is also UL 8800 and UL1598-certified.

Performance & Yields

 Grower's Choice ROI-E900 Spectrum Analysis

The ROI-E900 yielded cannabis plants of around 6 – 7 feet in height when they hit the flowering stage. This impressive result can be attributed to the lighting combination this grow light produces. Of course, there are other factors to consider here, such as nutrients used for the plants.

In the flowering stage, the mileage may vary. For one, you can expect larger-sized fruits or buds in the center, while those in the corners or outermost part of the canopy had smaller-sized buds around the 11th week of the plant cycle. Nonetheless, the buds produced in the outer area still looked inviting to pick.

Depending on what you're growing, you can push the growth cycle a little further, but be careful how long you do it, as you also need to factor in the flushing of nutrients. Now grow tents can get hot inside, even with fans inside. In some cases, a fan can't cut it, so the cooling system of a grow light is essential here. In this case, the ROI-E900's passive cooling system worked fine and did the job. Other things to note with the ROI-E900 are its ability to link with other grow lights and its compatibility with Growers Choice's Master Controller, which you can buy separately.

Should You Buy It?

Overall, the ROI-E900 is a powerful grow light for anyone looking for a no-frills fixture for indoor growing. It might not have fancy features, which you can get with a separate controller, but it's suitable for medium to commercial-scale growers. You can use the ROI-E900 as a standalone, ideal for smaller grow spaces. But if you're running a commercial-sized growing facility, consider getting the Master Controller with this grow light, especially when running multiple fixtures.
